The COVID-19 pandemic and the draconian lockdown imposed by government are impacting almost every aspect of our lives, the most prominent of which is mental health.
The risk of infection and overall environment of fear created by mass media coverage has made people more concerned about their health. Nowadays, we are catching an infection of emotions more than the disease as many people around us are failing to face the side affect of series of lockdown.
The overall situations created due to the forcefully imposed lockdown, that has been going on for the last several months is taking us towards an uncertain future. Along with this, social isolation, joblessness and draconian policing have restricted many of us to go out for walk / exercises or to avoid regular social activities etc, which is finally questioning our system. All these things are sowing the seeds of depression within all of us.
The effect of depression affects our daily routine. This causes people to feel mentally stressed in focusing or doing the routine work of daily life such as how they eat, sleep and think about the world, etc. Due to stress, you may find things tougher that others find easy. Some of these things are like -
a) If you are keep thinking about your job or business or find yourself very worried about personal investment and finance.
b) Being confused and finding technique of hoarding essentials.
c) Being always upset due to social isolation and sticking full time on smart phone.
d) To experience a growing sense of despair about the future.
How to improve your life in lockdown / post corona era? How to cope with the depression created by new challenges and failures ..?
Management of life -
You must have heard that you are the CEO of your life. Therefore you need to know, how to manage your life better.
A normal human life can be divided into two parts.
1) Private life, where you have most control. Whether it is about yourself or personal relationships, it affects your personal preference.
2) Public life is a mixture of your social and economic life. Here, society and economy influence you and mold you accordingly.
Your private and personal life is like an internal security line or firewall for you while public life is your main security layer. Loosing either of one can make you mad. The four sub-categories of life - private, personal, social and professional - have a great influence on each other, so intermixing one of these causes problems in your life.
Tips and Precautions -
My first guideline during lockdown is to avoid spending every moment in "emergency-like situations". As soon as possible, make up your mind that, we have to adapt a completely different situation. After this epidemic, the world has changed almost, so we all have to change.
These practices listed below will not change anyone's circumstances, but by focusing on it people can take steps towards making themselves to feel better.
1) Try to follow the normal routine as much as possible.
2) Limiting the time consumed with news and social media. The full-time use of negative 'news and social media contents' affects your thought process badly.
3) Finding ways to be physically active.
4) Eating healthy green food.
5) Trying to get enough sleep.
6) Focusing on what you can control instead of criticizing others.
7) To maintain social relations as much as possible.
